Engineering Report

 

Borough of West Cape May

 

            USDA FY2003 Water & Sewer Replacement Project – Remote Water Meter Reading System:

  • Status: 

 

  • Remington, Vernick & Walberg had requested and USDA has  given approval to use their funds for the purchasing of the necessary hardware, software and meters from National Waterworks.  National Waterworks is preparing a detailed equipment list and pricing.
  • The City of Cape May has amended an intermunicipal agreement relative to the cost of improvements to service to accommodate  the proposed remote water meter reading system. 

 

  • National Waterworks is preparing the necessary computer specifications needed to properly run the software systems.  Borough to secure a minimum of three (3) proposals for supplying two (2) computers.
  • Borough has drafted technical specifications for the installation of the water meters.  Remington, Vernick & Walberg to review the specifications and develop the appropriate construction documents for bidding purposes.

           

USDA FY2004 Water & Sewer Replacement Project - “Phase 2”:

  • Status: 

 

  • Closed out.

  • There will be an on-site status report meeting with USDA on Friday, September 5, 2008 at 1:00 PM.

 

            NJDOT Municipal Aid:  

 

  • Grant application has been approved by NJDOT in the amount of $143,000.00.   Work includes reconstruction of Sixth Avenue beginning at CR 607 (Bayshore Road) and proceeding easterly.
  • The contract has been awarded to Albrecht & Heun, Inc.
  • NJDOT approved the storm sewer replacement change order and the exceeding of the 20% maximum contract amount increase.  This allows the Borough to complete construction up to the maximum grant award.
  • Storm drainage is complete.
  • Paving is complete.
  • Outstanding items of work to be completed include concrete curb and pavement markings.

 

            Park Boulevard Bike Path:

 

    • The construction is complete.
    • Awaiting the as-builts and maintenance bond from Contractor.
    • Once as-builts and maintenance bond are received and approved, the retainage shall be released and the project will be closed out.
