Engineering Report

 

Borough of West Cape May

            USDA FY2003 Water & Sewer Replacement Project – Remote Water Meter Reading System:

 

  • Status: 
  • Construction is underway.  All installed meters have been tested and are presently readable through the remote reading system.  

 

  • Observations during the construction phase resulted in 19 existing meter pits needed to be replaced due to their physical condition.  Their condition was not known prior to the award of the contract.  A Change Order has been executed to add the meter pits.
  • Ten (10) existing meter pits remain to be replaced.

 

  • The Contractor anticipates beginning the work the week of August 10, 2009 and completing the work by the end of the week of August 17, 2009.

           

            NJDOT Municipal Aid

 

  • Grant application has been approved by NJDOT in the amount of $143,000.00.   Work included reconstruction of Sixth Avenue beginning at CR 607 (Bayshore Road) and proceeding easterly.
  • All work has been completed.

 

  • Contractor has resubmitted a request for a Change Order to reflect “down time” due to the investigation of the existing storm drain.  NJDOT had requested additional backup information to support the claim.  Contractor has submitted the additional information to NJDOT.  We are awaiting NJDOT’s action.
  • Project close out will follow NJDOT review of the requested Change Order.

 

            Park Boulevard Bike Path Phase II:

 

R V & W prepared and submitted an application for NJDOT funding of Phase II, between Emerald Avenue and Central Avenue.  The notification date is October, 2009 as NJDOT continues to review the applications.
