USDA FY2003 Water & Sewer Replacement Project - “Phase 1B” Re-Bid:
- Scope of Work: Upgrade approximately 2,000 feet of sanitary sewer gravity main and associated services, replace concrete curb and reconstruct roadway as required.
- Goldbeaten Alley (from Broadway to Atlantic) - Install sanitary sewer. Reconstruct roadway as required.
- Pacific Ave (from Sunset to Goldbeaten Alley) - Install sanitary sewer and associated services. Install storm sewer at Sunset Blvd and intersection of Second Ave to alleviate flooding. Replace concrete curb and reconstruct roadway as required.
- Sees Alley (from Broadway to Pacific) - Install sanitary sewer. Replace concrete curb and reconstruct roadway as required.
- Status: Work on this project is complete.
Scope of Work II: Additional work to utilize remaining grant monies.
- Remote read water meters
- Status: Remington, Vernick and Walberg has met on August 15, 2006 with Dave Carrick and are in the process of evaluating the proposed locations for the remote water meter reading devices.
ADA Upgrades for the Municipal Building: (no change from July 26, 2006 Engineering Report)
- Scope of Work: Modify the Municipal Building Complex and make it ADA compliant through upgrades to: Parking area for spaces, sidewalks and ramps; Entrance and access doors including hardware throughout building; Accessible route to connect all accessible spaces; Counter top and service window areas; Alarm system including pull stations and visible strobes; Bathrooms, drinking fountains and showers
- Status: Contracts approved. Pre-Construction meeting held on Apr 25. Construction has been temporarily put on hold until September 11, 2006. Contractor submittal process is continuing. Contractor is developing a delivery schedule for materials required for the project. Negotiation of a change order with Contractor for relocation of court administrator’s office to the existing meeting room is ongoing. Borough to remove and cap existing radiator outside meeting room. Borough to remove the carpet and existing raised floor in the meeting room and the connecting section between the meeting room and court room. Color selections for the court room doors and bathroom partitions have been made.

- McCollough Alley (from Broadway to Pacific) - Install sanitary sewer. Reconstruct roadway as required.
- Atlantic Ave (from Sunset to Borough Hall Alley) - Install sanitary sewer and associated services. Replace concrete curb and reconstruct roadway as required.
- Third Avenue (from Atlantic Avenue to Pacific Avenue) - Install sanitary sewer and associated services. Replace concrete curb and reconstruct roadway as required.
- Borough Hall Alley (from Broadway to Pacific) - Install sanitary sewer. Replace concrete curb and reconstruct roadway as required.
- Fifth Avenue (from Pacific Avenue to Brown Street) - Install sanitary sewer. Reconstruct roadway as required.
- Brown Street (Fifth Avenue mid block towards Sixth Avenue) - Install sanitary sewer. Reconstruct roadway as required.
- Pacific Ave (from Goldbeaten Alley to Sixth Avenue) - Install sanitary sewer and associated services. Replace concrete curb and reconstruct roadway as required.
- Status: Project is out to bid.
- Advertise for Bids August 10, 17 & 24, 2006.
- Open bids September 7, 2006.
- Review bids September 14, 2006.
- Issue Notice to Proceed September 18, 2006.
Computer Generated Tax Maps: (no change from July 26, 2006 Engineering Report)
- Scope of Work: Develop a computer generated new set of tax maps for State approval and revaluation compliance purposes.
- Status: The maps have been submitted to and approved by the State Division of Taxation. RV&W are working with the Planning Board per Mayor’s May 31, 2006 letter. Mayor to advise Remington, Vernick & Walberg of date, time, list of Borough officials to attend a meeting to familiarize Borough officials with the use of the software package. The meeting is tentatively planned for August.
NJDOT Municipal Aid: (no change from July 26, 2006 Engineering Report)
- Grant application has been prepared, a resolution approving the application for submission has been passed and the application submitted June 29, 2006. NJDOT approval would occur in October, 2006.
