USDA FY2003 Water & Sewer Replacement Project - “Phase  1B” Re-Bid: (no change from November 21, 2006 Engineering Report)

  • Status:  Work on this project is complete and in process of closing out the contract with Asphalt Paving Systems.

Scope of Work II:  Additional work to utilize remaining grant monies.

  • Remington, Vernick and Walberg has met on September 22, 2006 with Dave Carrick and two (2) vendors and are in the process of evaluating the remote water meter reading devices.
  • Dave Carrick and Remington Vernick & Walberg talked with Cape May to discuss option of tieing into their system.  An intermunicipal agreement is necessary for the sharing of Cape May’s remote reading system.  The Agreement needs to be in place prior to the Borough developing bid documents to move forward.
  • Borough discussing an intermunicipal agreement with the City of Cape May; decision to be made to either go with the City of Cape May or hand held remote readers.

ADA Upgrades for the Municipal Building:

  • Scope of Work:  Modify the Municipal Building Complex and make it ADA compliant through upgrades to:  Parking area for spaces, sidewalks and ramps; Entrance and access doors including hardware throughout building; Accessible route to connect all accessible spaces;  Counter top and service window areas;  Alarm system including pull stations and visible strobes;  Bathrooms, drinking fountains and showers
  • Status: 
  • Construction is 90% complete.
  • Rough in, including the hand rail, of the accessibility ramp in the court room is completed
  • Exterior doors are being installed.
  • Entrance sidewalk has been removed and shall be replaced the week of December 12, 2006.
  • Touch-up painting to follow completion of all construction.

USDA FY2004 Water & Sewer Replacement Project - “Phase  2”: (no change from September 27, 2006 Engineering Report)

  • Scope of Work:  Upgrade approximately 4,600 feet of sanitary sewer gravity main and associated services, replace concrete curb and reconstruct roadway as required.
  • McCollough Alley (from Broadway to Pacific) - Install sanitary sewer.  Reconstruct roadway as required.
  • Atlantic Ave (from Sunset to Borough Hall Alley) - Install sanitary sewer and associated services.  Replace concrete curb and reconstruct roadway as required.
  • Third Avenue (from Atlantic Avenue to Pacific Avenue) - Install sanitary sewer and associated services.  Replace concrete curb and reconstruct roadway as required.
  • Borough Hall Alley (from Broadway to Pacific) - Install sanitary sewer.  Replace concrete curb and reconstruct roadway as required.
  • Fifth Avenue (from Pacific Avenue to Brown Street) - Install sanitary sewer.  Reconstruct roadway as required.
  • Brown Street (Fifth Avenue mid block towards Sixth Avenue) - Install sanitary sewer.  Reconstruct roadway as required.
  • Pacific Ave (from Goldbeaten Alley to Sixth Avenue) - Install sanitary sewer and associated services.  Replace concrete curb and reconstruct roadway as required.
  • Status:  Contractor has submitted executed contracts.
  • Borough's Solicitor to review executed contracts and if found correct shall have the Borough execute their portion of said contracts.
  • Borough approved contract to be sent to USDA for approval.
  • Upon USDA approval, the pre-construction meeting will be scheduled.

NJDOT Municipal Aid: (no change from September 27, 2006 Engineering Report)

  • Grant application has been approved by NJDOT in the amount of $143,000.00. Work includes reconstruction of Sixth Avenue beginning at CR 607 (Bayshore Road) and proceeding easterly.
  • Remington, Vernick & Walberg to contact NJDOT to determine procedure to secure funds.
