USDA FY2003 Water & Sewer Replacement Project - “Phase  1B” Re-Bid:

  • Status:  Work on this project is complete and in process of closing out the contract with Asphalt Paving Systems.

Scope of Work II:  Additional work to utilize remaining grant monies.

  • Remington, Vernick and Walberg has met on September 22, 2006 with Dave Carrick and two (2) vendors and are in the process of evaluating the remote water meter reading devices.
  • Dave Carrick and Remington Vernick & Walberg talked with Cape May to discuss option of tieing into their system.  An intermunicipal agreement is necessary for the sharing of Cape May’s remote reading system.  The Agreement needs to be in place prior to the Borough developing bid documents to move forward.

ADA Upgrades for the Municipal Building:

  • Scope of Work:  Modify the Municipal Building Complex and make it ADA compliant through upgrades to:  Parking area for spaces, sidewalks and ramps; Entrance and access doors including hardware throughout building; Accessible route to connect all accessible spaces;  Counter top and service window areas;  Alarm system including pull stations and visible strobes;  Bathrooms, drinking fountains and showers
  • Status: 
  • Construction underway.
  • The pass through windows have been installed.
  • Interior door installation is ongoing.
  • Rough in of the accessibility ramp in the court room is completed.
  • Fire alarm system is 95% complete.
  • Exterior door delivery in two weeks.
  • Plumbing fixtures to be delivered week of October 23, 2006.
  • Toilet partitions to be installed week of October 30, 2006.
  • Painting to be coordinated with official holiday closing. 

USDA FY2004 Water & Sewer Replacement Project - “Phase  2”: (no change from September 27, 2006 Engineering Report)

  • Scope of Work:  Upgrade approximately 4,600 feet of sanitary sewer gravity main and associated services, replace concrete curb and reconstruct roadway as required.
  • McCollough Alley (from Broadway to Pacific) - Install sanitary sewer.  Reconstruct roadway as required.
  • Atlantic Ave (from Sunset to Borough Hall Alley) - Install sanitary sewer and associated services.  Replace concrete curb and reconstruct roadway as required.
  • Third Avenue (from Atlantic Avenue to Pacific Avenue) - Install sanitary sewer and associated services.  Replace concrete curb and reconstruct roadway as required.
  • Borough Hall Alley (from Broadway to Pacific) - Install sanitary sewer.  Replace concrete curb and reconstruct roadway as required.
  • Fifth Avenue (from Pacific Avenue to Brown Street) - Install sanitary sewer.  Reconstruct roadway as required.
  • Brown Street (Fifth Avenue mid block towards Sixth Avenue) - Install sanitary sewer.  Reconstruct roadway as required.
  • Pacific Ave (from Goldbeaten Alley to Sixth Avenue) - Install sanitary sewer and associated services.  Replace concrete curb and reconstruct roadway as required.
  • Status:  Project is out to re-bid due to material defect in the Notice to Bidders.
  • Re-advertise for Bids beginning September 28, 2006 with final publication on October 13, 2006.
  • Open bids October 26, 2006.
  • Award bids November 8, 2006.

Computer Generated Tax Maps: (no change from September 27, 2006 Engineering Report)

  • Scope of Work:  Develop a computer generated new set of tax maps for State approval and revaluation compliance purposes.
  • Status:  The maps have been submitted to and approved by the State Division of Taxation.  RV&W are working with the Planning Board per Mayor’s May 31, 2006 letter.  Mayor to advise Remington, Vernick & Walberg of date, time, list of Borough officials to attend a meeting to familiarize Borough officials with the use of the software package.  The meeting is tentatively planned for August.

NJDOT Municipal Aid: (no change from September 27, 2006 Engineering Report)

Grant application has been prepared, a resolution approving the application for submission has been passed and the application submitted June 29, 2006.  NJDOT approval would occur in October, 2006.
