Atlantic City Electric has made reporting streetlight outages even easier. The stretlight outage map is now powered by Google. The map features an improved interface that works on all devices. After reporting a streetlight problem, a tracking number is provided for status updates. In most cases, repairs occur within 5 days. CALL BEFORE YOU DIG:
Reminding contractors and residents of safe digging practices and damage prevention public awareness. South Jersey Gas asks that contractors and constituents Call 811 before performing any digging projects, commercial or residential.
South Jersey Gas reported that every nine minutes, an underground utility is damaged due to failure to obtain a free mark-out. In 2020, approximately 40% of their total facility damages were directly related to homeowners and small contractors doing excavations without the required mark-out. Failing to call NJ One Call for the proper mark-out ticket puts the health and safety of everyone at risk.
